Flowstate
A productivity startup needed a marketing site that explained a complex product in seconds.
A look at the Flowstate interface, designed by Apex.
01 — Project Overview
The brief
Flowstate is a productivity startup with a genuinely powerful product and a homepage that tried to explain all of it at once. Visitors arrived curious and left confused, and the free-trial signup rate had plateaued despite healthy traffic.
The mandate was clarity: communicate the core value in seconds, then reveal depth progressively for those who wanted it. The site had to convert curious visitors into trials and set the right expectations so those trials converted to paid.
02 — Project Execution
How we did it
We worked with the founders to find the single message that mattered most, then rebuilt the story benefit-first with progressive feature disclosure — leading with outcomes and letting interested visitors dig into capabilities. The interface is crisp and modern with a vivid violet accent and real product UI rather than abstract illustration.
We built reusable, composable sections and an in-page interactive demo so visitors could feel the product before signing up, then launched with trial analytics and ongoing message testing.

03 — Project Outcome
The results
Free-trial signups rose 52% and, because the new messaging set clearer expectations, trial-to-paid conversion improved 23%. Support tickets asking “what does this even do?” effectively disappeared as new users arrived already understanding the value.
